  Best Spains Ecotourism

Spain is a great place for an adventure filled holiday. There is a lot that will be learnt from the time spent in Spain. Ecotourism is one of the major parts of tourism in Spain. There are those of us that take a special interest in ecosystems and there is no better place to explore this than in Spain. When you opt for this kind of tour, the areas that are credited with ECST (European Charter for Sustainable Tourism) are the most credible.

The biosphere reserves as well as national parks in Spain enables one to enjoy scenic beauty in very valuable areas. The natural environment will be enjoyed extensively when the areas designated for these activities are visited.

One such area that supports ecotourism is the Do nana national park that displays a mosaic of some of the most interesting ecosystems. The park is very bio-diverse due to the many ecosystems that are in play here.  It is a very flat park and one can clearly see the transition from marshes to the topography of cotos. These provide a home for a great deal of some migratory birds. Lakes, fresh water, sandy grounds and dunes are the major determiners of the vegetation in the area. There is also animal life in the park that includes the bird species with the special presence of the Iberian Lynx which is the parks emblem.

There is also the park that hosts the peninsula’s highest mountains. There is a lot of beauty to take in and UNESCO has named the park as a great Biosphere Reserve. The park is at Granada’s south east extending to Almeria. There are some very steep cliffs as well as gentle slopes. The scenes are simply spectacular with natural vegetation as well as forests and hydrological resources that include mineral springs. The plant species exceed 2000 while the fauna includes birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. The Spanish ibex is however the most outstanding.

There are also some beautiful gorges as well as forests to look forward to. The Sierra de Grazalema is a place that has the Spanish fir which is a tree that acts as the symbol of the mountains. There are cave systems, gorges as well as rivers to be viewed and enjoyed during the tour. The area is a nature reserve and is recognized by UNESCO. The area actually receives more rainfall than all other parts of the peninsula; it is also abundant in vegetation, the pride of every ecotourism enthusiast.

There are also areas that clearly give some examples of some volcanic formations. The vegetations in such areas include beech, oaks and holm oak. The animals include Genet, marten, dormouse, wildcat as well as the wild boar.
